Why are donation drives, service projects, and individual donations so critical?

Donation drives are a lifeline for us, providing the essential items we need to pack backpacks and keep our shelves stocked. They enable us to collect a variety of items, ensuring that we can meet the specific needs of each order. We deeply appreciate our community’s support, as it plays a crucial role in helping us care for and support foster children and foster families during their challenging times.

Why do we only accept new items? 

The majority of children in foster care find themselves taken from their homes, often due to the heartbreaking circumstances of neglect. In these tumultuous moments, many are given nothing more than a trash bag to gather their scant belongings, a stark reminder of their enduring hardships. Tragically, many of these innocent children have never known the simple joy of unwrapping a brand-new piece of clothing, something that most of us take for granted. 

These precious children are deserving of so much more than what is often left behind. By providing them with new items, we can send a resounding message: they are valued, they matter, and our community stands with them in solidarity. It’s an opportunity to show that they are worthy of the best life has to offer, to wrap them in hope and dignity, and to remind them that they are cared for and cherished.
